The search for optimising spaces in public buildings also concerns works of art in museums, and paintings in particular. To respond to specific requirements ICAM has created a special COMPATTA system for the storage of paintings. This system enables the biggest museums to store a large number of paintings and frames in extremely small spaces, protected from dust and light and all in premises with controlled lighting and temperature. The closure of the system also results in a certain selection of accessibility to its archives.
