5 SILO² for Graziano: precision in Color Batch Picking
THE COMPANY
Graziano, founded in 1975 as a packaging manufacturer, is now a recognized leader in the market for its wide range of semi-finished products, ingredients, decorations, and equipment for confectionery, as well as party-related items. With a widespread presence across the national territory and a network of distribution channels, Graziano ensures fast and reliable deliveries. It serves both large-scale distribution (GDO) and specialized retailers through sales agents, as well as end customers through the eCommerce platform decorazioniperdolci.it and its store on Amazon.
THE LOGISTICS CHALLENGES
Graziano’s commercial network, initially limited to a local level, has expanded nationwide. The product range has grown, and private customer orders have increased exponentially thanks to direct purchases through the eCommerce platform. This growth made it necessary to reorganize the warehouse logistics to cope with new market challenges, ensuring speed and accuracy in order processing and meeting delivery deadlines, especially during seasonal peaks like Christmas holidays.
THE SOLUTION
The company has installed 5 SILO² automatic tri-column Vertical Lift Modules by ICAM at its main facility, optimizing the available space. Their strategic placement reduces operator travel distances, improves operational efficiency, and makes full use of every cubic meter available, even corner spaces. Additionally, thanks to the adoption of a Color Batch-Picking strategy, enabled by the IRIDE system at each picking station, combined with the integration of ICON (ICAM’s solutions management software), the WMS, and the eCommerce platform, the order fulfillment process is fast and accurate, ensuring maximum customer satisfaction. Today, Graziano is able to process up to 12 orders simultaneously, with zero errors.
