Managing the document archive of an international regulatory authority is not only a matter of space. It is a matter of control, security and operational continuity. Before the ICAM automated archiving system, ADFCA was facing a set of structural challenges that traditional archiving systems weren’t able to address effectively. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n

  • constantly growing document volumes: the number of records, files and folders to be archived kept increasing and, without an adequate system, the available space was running out quickly<\/li>\n

    \n ICAM installed 27 COMPATTA Light mobile shelving bases with mechanical hand-wheel drive at the ADFCA headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The shelving units \u2014 2,250 mm tall, 885 mm deep, ranging from 4,740 to 5,240 mm in length with a maximum load of 5,000 kg per base \u2014 were fitted with pull-out drawers for hanging files, making every folder directly accessible to operators. The layout was designed to make full use of the available floor area, working around the existing structural columns. The result is a compact system that concentrates 1,600 linear metres of document capacity in an optimised footprint, with a single working aisle open at any one time \u2014 physical protection from unauthorised access and dust built into the structure of the system itself. \n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n\n
