Tempraglass chooses ICAM automated storage systems<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the window and door manufacturing sector, competitiveness is no longer driven solely by design or material quality, but by the ability to manage fast, traceable, and fully integrated logistics flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manufacturers operating on a make-to-order basis must coordinate aluminum profiles, small parts, and accessories while meeting tight delivery schedules and consistently high quality standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the challenge faced by Tempraglass<\/strong>, an Italian manufacturer specializing in sliding panoramic glass systems and telescopic wind barriers made of tempered glass. To support its growth, the company selected ICAM<\/strong> as its technology partner, implementing two automated storage systems<\/strong>: MAXIL<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0 system for aluminum profiles<\/strong> and SILO\u00b2 VLM for small parts<\/strong>, fully integrated into its warehouse automation processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is a faster, more organized, and connected logistics operation that unlocked the full value of a strategic investment: the FOM Industrie automated cutting line<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tempraglass: design, technology, and scalable manufacturing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2017 in San Giorgio Jonico (Taranto, Italy), Tempraglass designs and manufactures sliding and folding panoramic glazing systems and telescopic wind barriers for professional operators, distributors, and dealers in Italy and international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \"\"\n <\/button>\n\n <\/figure>\n \n \n \"\"\n <\/button>\n\n <\/figure>\n \n \n \"\"\n <\/button>\n\n <\/figure>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What differentiates the company is its ability to manage the entire design and production process in-house, combining industrial-scale manufacturing with the attention to detail typical of advanced craftsmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the last five years, this approach has supported an average year-over-year growth of 80%<\/strong>, driven by a broad product portfolio – Maxima, Prisma, Nexa, Alpha, Alpha+, and Vertigo – and a make-to-order production model managing 25\u201330 orders per day<\/strong> and more than 500 SKUs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this scale, the existing logistics setup was no longer sufficient. Material handling, storage, and order preparation needed a structural upgrade to keep pace with production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlocking production capacity with automated storage systems<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To support increasing demand, Tempraglass invested in a FOM Industrie automated cutting line<\/strong>, capable of performing more than 2,000 cuts per shift<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite its technical capabilities, the system initially operated well below its potential. The issue was not the machine, it was the warehouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Painted aluminum profiles were stored on static racks and handled manually. Locating, retrieving, and preparing materials took too long, causing idle time and frequent interruptions on the cutting line. The production flow was fragmented, and much of the expected return on investment remained unrealized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only by introducing automated storage systems<\/strong> capable of feeding the cutting line at the same pace could Tempraglass convert theoretical capacity into real, measurable productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, small parts management presented similar challenges: overcrowded storage areas, excessive operator travel, picking errors, and limited inventory visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It became clear that warehouse automation, starting from storage, was essential to stabilize and scale production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
