2 SILO² Vertical Lift Modules with pick-to-light system for the order consolidation of GEA Farm Technologies

GEA Farm Technologies is part of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft, one of the largest technology suppliers for food processing and a wide range of other industries. The global group focuses on technologies, components and sustainable solutions for sophisticated production processes in diverse end-user markets.

Due to the strong growth in sales volumes worldwide which involve the need for greater storage capacity, in 2014 the Company has decided to re-design the storage area of its Bönen site in order to optimize the available space and make the picking operations faster and more accurate.

The installation of 2 SILO² multi-column Vertical Lift Modules, both with two side-by-side access opening equipped with a laser pointer pick/put-to-light system, allowed to GEA Farm Technologies to drastically reduce set-up times of orders, eliminating unnecessary and lengthy procedures such as reading picking lists, identification of positions and verification.
