Alidaunia: outdoor SILO² Vertical Lift Module for the safe storage of high-value parts and tools
THE COMPANY
Established in Foggia, Italy, in 1976, Alidaunia began life as an aerial navigation company. Alidaunia is involved in various activities, the most important being those related to aviation, more specifically the daily flight connections between Foggia and the Tremiti Islands. Alidaunia has also greatly developed its maintenance operations and is now an authorized AgustaWestland Authorized Service Center.
THE LOGISTICS CHALLENGES
An ever-increasing number of components and spare parts, the high value of tools and equipment used, as well as the need to continually monitor available stock levels, have all pushed Alidaunia to opt for an automated storage solution which can offer the highest levels of accuracy, speed and safety as requested by the Aerospace & Defense Industry.
THE SOLUTION
In order to exploit all the available space inside the hangar, the SILO² Vertical Lift Module was installed externally, while still providing internal access from inside the production area. Insulated thermal paneling ensures that the stored items are properly protected from the elements.
