high-density mobile shelving system on floor-mounted rails, designed for the intensive archiving and storage of light loads: hardware and small parts, consumables, hanging garments, pharmaceuticals, documents, books, maps, and magnetic media.

How it works
COMPATTA Light consists of shelving units mounted on mobile bases that travel on rails integrated flush with the floor. The bases compact together, opening the access aisle only at the position required: the operator activates the system via handle, handwheel, or front-panel pushbutton, without interrupting operations.
Compared to a conventional fixed-shelving layout, COMPATTA Light recovers up to 50% of the available floor area, or in the same space, increases storage capacity by up to 90%.

Step 1: Aisle selection
The operator selects the desired aisle via handle (manual push), handwheel (mechanical), or front-panel pushbutton (electric), located on the front face of each mobile base. -

Step 2: Aisle opening and material access
The mobile bases travel to open the aisle at the selected position. The operator accesses stored or archived materials directly from the open aisle. -

Step 3: Active safety (electric model)
Photoelectric barriers positioned at the entry faces and inside the aisles immediately halt movement if an operator or obstacle is detected. A consent pushbutton is required to activate base movement. -

Step 4: Closing
The operator closes the aisle at the end of operations. The anti-crush device on the handwheel prevents accidental closure of the working aisle.
Technical Specifications
Mobile bases
COMPATTA Light mobile bases are available in manual push, mechanical handwheel, and electric versions. Length is configurable from 650 to 12,000 mm; width from 545 to 1,645 mm. Maximum load capacity is 12,000 kg per mobile base. All versions include an anti-tip system integrated in the base rails.
Racking
COMPATTA Light mobile bases accept snap-fit shelving in two types: T40 and RG30. Double-sided structures are available, providing two independent shelving faces with variable-height working station. Maximum shelving height is 4,000 mm (6,000 mm for the Duplex model).
System and Control
Movement is activated via handle (manual push), handwheel on the front panel (mechanical), or front-panel pushbutton on each mobile base (electric). For double-entry configurations, a pushbutton panel is also provided on the opposite face. The Duplex model extends the system to a second level accessible via integrated staircases, with both levels moved by a single base.

The models
Manual Push
Each mobile shelving unit is moved via a handle located centrally on the front panel. Ideal for low-frequency access environments.
Mechanical Handwheel
The aisle opens by rotating the handwheel on the front panel in the desired direction. Smooth and precise, suitable for medium-frequency operations.
Electric
The aisle opens via a pushbutton panel on the front face of each mobile base. For double-entry configurations, a second panel is provided on the opposite face.
Duplex
Where ceiling height allows, COMPATTA Light Duplex extends the system to a second shelving level, accessible via staircases integrated in the structure. Both levels are moved by a single base. The self-supporting structure maximizes available height and reduces costs compared to traditional mezzanine solutions. Available with mechanical handwheel or electric drive.
