ICON Advanced Features

Advanced features that take ICAM automated storage management further

From managing multiple storage systems simultaneously to dynamically optimizing storage, and coordinating automated and manual areas from a single point, ICON provides three operating modes that simplify daily activities and keep warehouse operations aligned with management priorities.

These features are designed to reduce idle time, eliminate operational redundancies and give operators more precise, responsive control tools.

Multi-Unit Management

Multiple automated vertical storage systems managed simultaneously from a single interface.
ICON treats different machines as a single warehouse, autonomously distributing operations across each system to maximize overall performance. Picks run in parallel rather than in sequence, inventory is centralized and operators can access any machine in the work island, all with a single ICON Pro license.

Results: higher throughput, no idle time and unified inventory visibility.

Floor Area Management

Static racking and traditional storage areas are digitally mapped and managed within the same interface as the vertical storage system. No more separate systems, different operating logics or multiple control points: the entire warehouse, both automated and traditional, is managed through a single control layer in ICON, available on tablet for mobile use between the shelves. Up to 500 locations can be configured by the ICAM team based on your floor plan.

Results: full visibility over the entire storage area, fewer picking errors and smoother operations.

Multi-Factor Dynamic Slotting

Each item is no longer tied to a single storage logic, but to a set of variables that ICON manages dynamically: dimensions, product affinity, rotation, supplier and product family. An intelligent algorithm cross-checks these factors and automatically decides where to place each item in the warehouse, adapting to the real evolution of inventory.
This feature delivers maximum value in environments with highly variable inventories, where static slotting rules quickly become obsolete. It is a logic that learns from data and continuously optimizes material placement, with no manual intervention required.

Results: maximum use of space, smoother flows and a warehouse that reorganizes itself according to operational priorities

These features make ICAM automated storage systems more efficient, higher-performing and safer

with fewer errors, less idle time and greater ability to respond to operational priorities in real time.
