ICAM, an Italian company specializing in the design and manufacture of automated storage systems, is strengthening its presence in Thailand through a partnership with Tellus Systems Limited. Based in Bangkok, Tellus has been designing, selling, installing and servicing storage and material handling solutions since 2001. The partnership will make its debut at METALEX 2026, taking place from November 18 to 21 at BITEC Bangkok, where we will showcase two solutions in live demonstrations: the SILO² multi-column Vertical Lift Module (VLM) and ROTAR, a vertical carousel available exclusively in the ICAM APAC market.
With ICAM automated storage systems, Tellus is expanding its portfolio to include goods-to-person solutions for tools, molds, components and spare parts. These are among the most frequently handled items in metalworking facilities, where quick access to materials close to production is essential.
SILO² and ROTAR Live Demos at METALEX 2026 in Bangkok
We will showcase ICAM automated storage systems at METALEX 2026, ASEAN’s leading exhibition for machine tools and metalworking technologies. Taking place from November 18 to 21 at BITEC (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre), the event will give us the opportunity to demonstrate SILO² and ROTAR live alongside our partner Tellus Systems.
The 2026 edition, themed “Infinite Possibilities”, is open exclusively to trade visitors. According to the organizers, the event is expected to bring together more than 3,000 brands from 50 countries and over 100,000 industry professionals.
Join us and Tellus to discover ICAM automated storage systems: SILO² and ROTAR.

SILO², the Multi-Column Vertical Lift Module (VLM)
SILO² is ICAM’s multi-column Vertical Lift Module (VLM). Items are stored on trays within vertical storage columns. Based on the goods-to-person principle, the system automatically delivers the requested tray to the picking and refilling station, bringing materials directly to the operator rather than requiring them to move around the warehouse. Its modular design allows for configurations ranging from two to seven columns, making the most of the available height while adapting to the building layout and storage requirements.
At the exhibition, you can see the picking and replenishment cycle in action and discuss the best configuration for your facility with ICAM and Tellus specialists.
ROTAR, the vertical carousel for small parts and consumables
ROTAR is ICAM’s automated vertical carousel, available exclusively in the ICAM APAC market, covering countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The carousel system automatically delivers the requested carrier to the picking station, reducing unnecessary movement and time spent searching through shelves. Designed for small parts, spare parts, consumables and accessories, ROTAR provides compact storage close to where these items are needed.
Each carrier has a load capacity of up to 120 kg and can be fitted with intermediate shelves, dividers and removable bins to organize items according to their size and use. Safety devices monitor the access area, while a lockable metal enclosure prevents unauthorized access to stored items. Integration with ICAM’s ICON warehouse software enables the management and traceability of every stored item.
How can metalworking companies organize tools, molds and spare parts?
Metalworking facilities handle a wide variety of items, including molds, dies and fixtures, cutting tools and inserts, machine tool spare parts, small components and consumables. When stored on conventional shelving, these materials take up valuable floor space, can be time-consuming to locate and are difficult to track.
An ICAM automated vertical storage system changes the way materials reach operators. Items are stored vertically on trays or in carriers, and the system automatically delivers the required materials to the picking and refilling station. By making efficient use of the available height, it increases storage capacity, brings picking operations to a single access point and ensures controlled access to stored items.
The two solutions we will showcase at METALEX 2026 address complementary storage needs. SILO² makes the most of the available height to store molds, tools, components and spare parts of different sizes, with multi-column configurations tailored to the available space. ROTAR is ideal for keeping small parts and consumables within easy reach, in a compact footprint close to the production line. The result is more than a better-organized warehouse: it helps keep production running by reducing the time spent searching for tools and spare parts.
Tellus Systems: who they are and how they complement ICAM automated storage systems
Tellus Systems Limited is based in Bangkok. Since 2001, the company has been developing customized storage and material handling solutions, supporting customers at every stage, from design and sales to installation and after-sales service, for both new and existing systems. Tellus manufactures its own range of static and mobile racking systems in Thailand, serving the domestic market and exporting across the Asia-Pacific region. The company also represents international manufacturers of industrial storage and automated material handling systems. It operates in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
The company’s product portfolio includes several categories of solutions:
- Pallet racking systems (selective, double-deep, Very Narrow Aisle (VNA), drive-in, pallet flow, push-back and shuttle systems);
- Cantilever racking for long materials, carton flow systems, modular shelving and mezzanine floors;
- Mobile shelving systems for offices and archives;
- Automation solutions, including AGVs, AS/RS shuttle systems and micro-fulfillment solutions;
- Racking protection systems, inspection and repair services.
Its customers span a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, logistics, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, retail, energy and construction.
SILO² and ROTAR complement this portfolio by addressing a specific need: automated storage of small and medium-sized items, where fast, accurate picking matters more than sheer storage volume. Alongside its solutions for pallets and heavy loads, Tellus can now offer customers ICAM automated storage systems designed to operate close to production areas.
Statements
At METALEX we meet the Thai manufacturers who work with tools, molds and spare parts every day, companies where a missing part means a machine standing idle. Tellus has been designing, installing and servicing storage systems in this country since 2001, and also covers Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Together we can support these customers from the first space analysis through to after-sales service, with a local team on the ground.
Over twenty-five years we have built a range for our customers that runs from pallet racking to AGVs. SILO² and ROTAR take us into the busiest part of the warehouse: tools, spare parts and small components close to production. Showing them in operation at METALEX, in front of the metalworking community, is the most concrete way to make that clear.
