ICAM, the Italian manufacturer of automated vertical storage systems, is bringing its automated storage solutions, integrated with mobile robotics and 3D vision, to Vietnam through a new partnership with RTC Technology Vietnam. The partnership made its debut on 22 September 2026 in Hanoi, at the seminar “Smart Warehouse Solutions with ICAM – SILO² integrated with AGV/AMR & 3D Vision”, which brought together manufacturers and engineers at the RTC factory in Dan Phuong.
The question at the heart of the event was a practical one: how do you increase storage capacity, reduce manual handling and create an intralogistics flow in which the automated warehouse, robots and management systems work as one solution?
SILO², AGV/AMR robots and 3D vision: the live demonstration
The seminar moved beyond theory and showed the technologies at work, side by side. SILO², ICAM’s multi-column Vertical Lift Module (VLM), operated together with RTC’s AGV/AMR robots and 3D vision systems. Each technology had a clear role. SILO² stores materials in trays and delivers them to the picking and refilling station. 3D vision recognises and locates objects. Robotics performs the automated handling. Mobile robots connect storage to the rest of the plant. The result is one integrated system.

How to integrate an automated warehouse into a smart factory
In a smart factory, the warehouse is no longer just a place to hold goods: it becomes an active part of the production flow. Getting there means optimising storage density, vertical space utilisation, retrieval speed, picking accuracy and connectivity with other warehouse operations, all together. When ICAM automated storage systems are integrated with WMS and WCS, conveyors, AGV/AMR robots and warehouse management layers, the whole process becomes one continuous flow: inbound, storage, retrieval, order fulfilment and outbound. Manual handling drops, every step is traceable and production receives materials when it needs them.
An ICAM automated storage solution for every material
In his talk, Alessandro Duca, Managing Director of ICAM APAC, presented real projects from the Asia-Pacific region. The common thread was the method: assessing material characteristics, layout, load capacity, retrieval frequency and operating processes together with the customer, then translating these constraints into the right solution. The ICAM range covers very different needs: SILO² for small parts and components, RIGO for low-ceiling environments, the MAXI range for profiles, bars and panels, and COMPATTA for pallets and heavy loads. Each solution can then be connected to the other automation technologies in the plant.
RTC Technology Vietnam: robotics and intralogistics automation
RTC Technology Vietnam designs and integrates smart warehouse and smart factory solutions: AGV/AMR material handling, 3D vision for automated handling and robotic integration into production processes. ICAM automated storage systems complete this offering, so Vietnamese manufacturers now have a single local partner for the entire material flow, from inbound to outbound.
Statements
The Hanoi seminar showed what we mean by an automated warehouse: not a system that only stores goods, but a solution that becomes part of the process and connects with everything around it, from mobile robots to management systems. With RTC Technology we can bring ICAM automated storage systems into smart factory projects in Vietnam, alongside a partner with deep expertise in robotics and handling automation.
Integrating ICAM automated storage systems with our AGV/AMR robots and 3D vision closes the automation loop: materials are stored, retrieved, recognised and transported without interruption. The Hanoi demonstration confirmed that this integration already works today, in a real production environment.
