Tempraglass: a rapidly growing company

Founded in 2017 in San Giorgio Jonico (Italy), Tempraglass designs and manufactures sliding glass systems and windbreaks. The company manages all production phases internally, working on a made-to-order basis for customers in Italy and abroad.

Aluminum profiles up to 7 meters long were stored on traditional shelving and handled manually, causing delays, long search times, and risk of damage.

The logistical challenges

The introduction of an automated cutting line capable of over 2,000 cuts per shift exposed a key issue: the warehouse could not keep up.

Aluminum profiles up to 7 meters long were stored on traditional shelving and handled manually, causing delays, long search times, and risk of damage.

In the small parts area, space was saturated, materials disorganized, and picking prone to errors. Operators had to move repeatedly to complete orders, slowing down operations.

SILO²

In the assembly area, SILO² replaced traditional shelving, bringing order and control to small parts management.

The system features 3 columns and 2 adjacent picking stations with IRIDE, guiding operators during picking. With 150 trays and 900 containers, all items are organized and easily accessible.

Integrated with ICON and Team System ERP, it automates order preparation and updates inventory in real time. Orders now move from up to one week to just one day, while space is reduced by over 10 times.

MAXIᴸ

To manage aluminum profiles, Tempraglass installed MAXIᴸ, the ICAM vertical storage system for long materials, positioned directly in front of the cutting line.
7-meter trays with up to 1,000 kg capacity ensure organized and protected storage.

Material is delivered exactly when needed, enabling continuous and synchronized line feeding. This led to a productivity increase of about 70%.
