IRIDE is the interactive control system available on ICAM SILO² automated vertical storage systems and RIGO automated horizontal storage systems. It combines light beams, operational data and controls at the Picking and Refilling station, making every picking operation guided, continuous and free from interpretation errors.
IRIDE: smart picking device for ICAM automated storage systems
Transform your picking station into a visual, guided environment.
IRIDE is the interactive control system available on ICAM automated storage systems, SILO² and RIGO, that transforms the picking station into a visual, guided work environment. Light beams, real-time data, and direct commands at the station: nothing to search for, nothing to interpret, nothing you need to already know.
IRIDE, when picking becomes visual.
Light, data, instructions.
With IRIDE, picking needs no interpretation.
The operator sees what to do. And does it, from day one.
But even when they’re present, the margin for error doesn’t disappear. Because errors don’t come from distraction. They come from interpretation: reading a label, finding a slot, figuring out which order a part belongs to. Small steps, high stakes.
Six smart features.
One intelligent picking station.
-
IRIDE GUIDES — Light Picking Guide
A beam of light indicates the exact compartment to pick from. Pick-to-light technology eliminates searching and interpretation: every pick becomes a direct, faster action, with zero margin for error.
-
IRIDE INFORMS — Head-Up Digital Dashboard
Item photo, description, quantity, slot, stock levels, and order color code: every piece of information is visible at the picking station, in front of the operator. No distractions, no moving to an external screen or device.
-
IRIDE MANAGES — Active Control
Confirm, modify, cancel: every operation is managed directly from the picking station. Fewer movements, maximum focus on workflow.
-
IRIDE ACCELERATES — Color Batch Picking
Color coding enables simultaneous fulfillment of multiple orders. The dashboard shows the order color, the light beam guides the pick, the container shows where to deposit. Multiple orders in parallel, one continuous flow.
-
IRIDE SIGNALS — Adaptive Interior Lighting
Interior lighting adapts to operating conditions and delivers notifications directly at the picking station. Better visibility, greater safety at every stage of the operation.
-
IRIDE ALERTS — Integrated Load Cells as Standard
The system monitors tray load balance in real time. If an anomaly is detected, an alert appears immediately on the dashboard, before it can cause machine downtime. Operational continuity guaranteed.
Consistent performance. Any operator. Any time.
With IRIDE, the picking and refilling station is no longer just an access point to the machine. It becomes a work environment where every piece of information is in the right place at the right time for an experienced operator and for someone on their first day, in routine operations and at peak demand.
FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions about IRIDE
IRIDE is useful for anyone managing warehouse operations where speed, accuracy and continuity are critical variables. It is particularly effective in contexts with frequent operator turnover, activity peaks, simultaneous management of multiple orders, or where item knowledge is essential to perform the correct pick.
IRIDE projects a light beam onto the compartment where the item must be picked. The operator does not need to search, read or interpret instructions: they immediately see where to act. Picking becomes an instinctive action.
IRIDE is an optional feature that can be installed on the picking and/or refilling stations of ICAM SILO² and RIGO automated storage systems.
Yes. Yes. IRIDE operates within the ICAM ecosystem and requires ICON Pro, the advanced package of ICAM’s management software, to ensure consistency between operational data and the information displayed at the Picking and Refilling station.
Yes. Yes. IRIDE is designed to eliminate dependence on operator experience. Instructions are visual, immediate and require no interpretation, so performance remains consistent regardless of the operator’s skill level.
A colour is assigned to each order. The dashboard shows the colour, the light beam guides the pick, and the coloured container indicates where the picked items must be placed. The cycle repeats continuously, allowing multiple orders to be managed in parallel without ambiguity.
No. You can keep using your usual boxes and containers. Simply apply a coloured label to the front of the container, or to the shelf of the table or trolley used as the picking station. The label colour must match the colour shown to the operator in the corresponding section of the IRIDE dashboard.
SILO² picking and refilling stations are equipped as standard with integrated load cells that monitor tray load balance in real time. If an anomaly is detected, an alert immediately appears on the dashboard on the side where the imbalance is detected, before the issue can cause machine downtime.
Yes. In environments with very intense lighting, the light beam may become less visually effective. Similarly, when items exceed a certain height, light guidance may be less precise. In both cases, ICAM assesses the most suitable solution together with the customer, which may include the Picking Display.
