COMPATTA mobile racking system with 69 bases for door and window frame storage — Nusco Porte S.p.A., Nola (NA)

Nusco Porte S.p.A.: international leader in door manufacturing

Nusco Porte S.p.A. is an international leader in the production and distribution of wooden interior doors, security doors and entrance doors. Steady growth in the number of item codes and product variants to be managed made a major warehouse reorganization necessary: more space, more order and fewer risks for goods whose size and value leave no room for storage or handling errors.

The logistical challenges

Managing doors and windows of different types and sizes on traditional racking created concrete operational issues.

  • difficulty in forklift handling operations: insufficient aisles, complex maneuvers and risk of impact
  • frequent product damage during load and unload operations
  • growth in the number of SKUs and product variants, saturating the available floor space
  • knock-on impact on delivery times and customer-perceived service quality

COMPATTA: 69 mobile bases, 3 loading levels, guaranteed forklift access in any position

The COMPATTA mobile racking system installed by Nusco Porte consists of 69 electromechanically driven mobile bases, each 10 meters long and equipped with racking almost 6 meters high.
The mobile bases move along floor rails, opening only the required access aisle and ensuring convenient access to archived documents. Configured across three storage levels, the system manages hundreds of door and window frame SKUs with different sizes and specifications.
Electromechanical movement allows the aisle to be opened remotely via remote control, without the operator having to leave the forklift.
