Esenfu: a leading distributor for window and door manufacturers and designers

Founded in 2011 in Modugno, near Bari, by Vito Genchi, Esenfu is an authorized distributor of aluminum profiles and window and door accessories for brands including Domal, Wicona, Artline and Acciaio Mogs.
Thanks to the quality of its product range and its technical support, Esenfu quickly became a trusted partner for local window and door manufacturers. Within just a few years, the company’s growth and expanding product range required a larger, more advanced facility.
In a market where end customers increasingly expect high standards of quality and design, distributor competitiveness is not determined by product range alone, but by the speed, accuracy and reliability of delivery.

The logistical challenges

Following the relocation to its new facility, Esenfu needed to address two separate operational challenges that the previous warehouse layout could no longer support.

On one side, more than 3,000 window and door hardware accessories were stored on traditional racking, with no structured traceability. On the other, aluminum bars and profiles were exposed to outdoor conditions, with a direct impact on raw material quality and customer service performance.

Window and door hardware accessories

• more than 3,000 SKUs, including hooks, handles, hinges and knobs, stored on traditional racking across 80 m² and two levels

• manual search, with ladders required to access the higher racking levels, frequent picking errors and long order preparation times

• no traceability: continuous manual inventories and replenishment managed without reliable data

Aluminum bars and profiles

• around 600 tons of bars up to 7 meters long stored outdoors, exposed to weather and dirt

• deterioration of raw material quality, with a direct impact on end-customer satisfaction

• around 600 m² of floor space required to store the same quantity using traditional racking

SILO² for window and door hardware accessories: almost 10 meters high, IRIDE on both picking and refilling stations

The SILO² multi-column Vertical Lift Module stands almost 10 meters high, with 3 storage columns and 2 side-by-side picking and refilling stations equipped with IRIDE. In just 23 m² of footprint, it stores over 3,000 window and door hardware accessories organized by product family, delivering a storage density that would have required over 80 m² with traditional racking.
IRIDE displays the item photo, description and picking quantity directly at the workstation: the operator confirms the operation from the integrated control panel without moving back to the PC. The two stations work in parallel, eliminating waiting time between one mission and the next.

ICON integrated with the management system: sales agents always updated, reliable answers to customers in real time

The integration between ICON and the company management system turns the warehouse into a commercial asset. The purchasing office generates picking lists and sends them directly to the station PC, with no manual steps.
Sales agents in the field check stock levels in real time from their tablets and provide customers with reliable answers without contacting the office, eliminating the uncertainty that used to slow down negotiations.
Replenishment, previously based on rough estimates, is now automatic and aligned with actual consumption. The result: a 50 to 60 line picking list is prepared in 15 minutes instead of 30.

COMPATTA equipped with cantilever racking for aluminum bars up to 7 meters: 600 tons stored indoors, –40% floor space

The COMPATTA mobile racking system consists of 5 mobile bases, each 19.5 meters long and almost 5 meters high, with cantilever racking across 11 loading levels for aluminum bars and profiles up to 7 meters long.
The bases open only at the required position and can be operated by remote control directly from the forklift, without the operator stepping down.
The same 600 tons that previously required around 600 m² of outdoor floor space now occupy just 367 m² inside the facility: 40% less floor space and full protection from weather and external agents.

Discover how ESENFU improved material management efficiency

Before, all accessories were stored on basic racking. Stock checks and picking were handled manually by our team, which slowed operations down. Today, with the SILO² multi-column Vertical Lift Module, everything is much simpler, including inventory management: we can keep all stored items constantly under control.
